Boundary Waters | Day One | Hail Storm

Four days, three nights in the Boundary Waters. Another adventure begins...
Rock's boss picked out the trail we're on. It was a gorgeous trail, except the portages were the rockiest, most slanted trails I've ever seen. Picture walking up the rocks at Devil's Lake, except with a canoe balanced on your shoulders.
Rock and I in one canoe, we're probably the best paddlers in Minnesota, maybe Canada.
After a 30 minutes hail storm, we needed a lil' something, something to raise our spirits... Not in the photo are Soozy and Noland, who are scouting out the island to see if there's a trail. This is when they got the nicknames of "Camp Counselors," since I'm pretty sure we'd never have made it to our first campsite without them.
