Grand activity of the day - hiking Franz Josef Glacier.

 To walk behind the warning signs, you need a guide (who carries a pick ax!) and crampons.

 Oh hello there! I was just admiring this glacier.

 Inside the glacier! Too bad the photo didn't turn out, but you can see the glacier blue color the ice gives off.

Next up are the Glacier Hot Pools, which are free with the hike. The hot pools are not naturally heated; suddenly I'm a hot pool snob.

Then off to Fox Glacier to find our motel, for a second night in a row where we get a sign like this on the door of the office building. I like the part about the milk.
