Since it's Molly's last day on the team, we decided to have some team family fun in Grand Rapids. The place: Amway Grand Plaza, an old school, swanky hotel started in 1913 that has since been renamed and re-owned by household cleaner and cosmetics seller, Amway (Amway is headquartered nearby.)
Clever! Sofa/Wishing Fountain! Also, I don't have a photos, but the Amway Grand has one of the world's largest gold-leaf ceilings!
Eight of us enjoyed martinis on the 27th floor* with fantastic, rainy views of the river (the grand rapid) flowing through town. *Living in Madison, I sometimes forget that other cities have tall buildings. Madison has a law that says no building can be taller than the capitol - therefore - no buildings with 27 floors.
