Dave wanted to try New Glarus's Golden Ale (New Glarus brewed only 160 barrels of Golden Ale, only available at the Brewery). And, I've never actually been inside the brewery, despite my very frequent purchases of Spotted Cow and my high curiosity of the expansion. So we took the 40 minute drive to New Glarus - I volunteered to drive! The tour is free, self-guided and not very good. They need more plaques that explain what's going on.
Here's the uber-cool label for their limited edition Golden Ale. It looks handwritten, but it's not. Still very cool though.
My chosen souvenir: beer soap. Made from actual Spotted Cow beer.
Then we stopped by New Glarus (the village). It's very into Brown Swiss cows. Most businesses have a painted cow out front.
