Today's event: Lakeshore vs. Southeast dorms in a snowball fight on Bascom Hill. At first, it didn't seem like anyone was going to show up besides the TV crews.
Then, Lakeshore groups starting marching over Bascom, carrying snow with them. Serious business.
When the whistle blew (3pm), snowballing started. No question about it, Lakeshore outnumbered and out-fought Southeast dorms.
Later today, over my birthday dinner with the family, Dad mentioned when he was at the UW, he had gotten into a huge, after-bartime snowball fight and had to get stitches. The friend who accompanied him to the hospital got in trouble for riding a wheelchair through the halls. Dad was Lakeshore.
